appointments
NEW - from 5 November 2007 - book your appointments online. More details.
All surgeries are by appointment only.
The receptionists can advise you when the doctors are in surgery. You can either call on the day of your choice or book an appointment in advance. Both Sturminster and Marnhull Surgeries open at 8:30am to make appointments.
We will always try to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice but if they are at our other surgery or away from the practice this may not be possible. The doctors may be away because they are on a course, involved in a meeting or administration, teaching or on holiday. See the timetable below for doctors consulting arrangements.
Below is a timetable of each doctors typical working week. Please note this may change due to annual or sick leave.

You may experience some short delays in getting through to the receptionists at peak times. We have several telephone lines coming into the surgery and you will be attended to as soon as possible.
At exceptionally busy times we may offer you an appointment with a doctor other than your first choice, but you will always be offered an appointment on the day of your choice. The doctors feel that they usually give a better service to patients seen in the morning rather than the afternoon.
When surgeries run late it may be because we have had an urgent problem to deal with out of the surgery or by telephone or that another patient has had a particularly difficult, time-consuming or urgent problem earlier on in the surgery, perhaps requiring arrangements to be made for their admission to hospital. For reasons of patient confidentiality we are usually unable to say why you may be kept waiting after your appointment time but we hope to keep you informed as to how long you are likely to wait.
Friday afternoon surgeries are for urgent problems only
home visits
When you are too ill to attend surgery and need to see a doctor, please try to request a visit by 10am, in order that the doctors can plan their visit schedules.
Please be prepared to give a few details (and directions!) to the receptionist.
